2008 Blackboard Awards for Schools

About 300 people gathered Oct. 16 at Hunter College to pay tribute to the 29 city schools and three principals honored with Blackboard Awards this year. Pulitzer Prize-winning author and former Stuyvesant English teacher Frank McCourt once again served as master of ceremonies, and Fatima Shama, senior education policy advisor for Mayor Michael Bloomberg, presented a mayoral proclamation.
