Reporters for the Blackboard Awards contacted all the schools listed in this chart to request updated school statistics.
While some responded to our questionnaire, others declined to participate or only shared certain statistics. Numbers appearing in italics were provided by schools themselves, or were taken from schools’ websites. When we could not get information directly from schools, we used data from the National Center for Education Statistics, U.S. Department of Education, www.nces.ed.gov, which represent the 2007-2008 school year. Readers should be aware that information for one school may come from numbers provided by the school or numbers obtained through NCES.

The student body number reflects the total number of students in the entire school.

Overall diversity: some schools say they do not break out diversity data by race, but instead provide a percentage of overall diversity, which would reflect the non-white student population. “N/A” indicates that no data were available for a specific race category.

If a school provided more than one student-teacher ratio figure for high school level classes, we calculated an average student-teacher ratio for the entire high school division. Some schools include teacher-aides in the student-teacher ratio figure.
